MÜRZER OBERLAND
NATURE EXPERIENCE IN ITS MOST ORIGINAL FORM
Nowadays, the Mürzer Oberland Nature Park stands on four solid pillars through the interaction of nature conservation, education, recreation, and regional development. In this area you will find, for example, the famous Neuberg Abbey with its cathedral, the Kaiserhof glass manufactory with its glass blowing workshop or the natural jewel “Wasserfall zum Toten Weib” (engl. the waterfall to the dead woman).

You don’t have to look for long to find wintry white sugared landscapes in Eisenerz. The sunny area at the foot of the Kaiserschild is known for its copious amounts of snow. Even the professionals know that Frau Holle is often well disposed to Eisenerz in terms of weather. MARIAZELL
MARIAZELL IS CONSIDERED THE MOST IMPORTANT PILGRIMAGE DESTINATION IN CENTRAL EUROPE
Mariazell is not only worth a visit as a pilgrimage destination. Even though the impressive Basilica is clearly in the center of the town, many other highlights, such as the Pirker Lebzelterei or the experiences on the Mariazell Bürgeralpe are also just as recommendable.
SACKWIESENSEE
FROM BODENBAUER PAST THE HÄUSLALM TO LAKE SACKWIESEN
The lake is the highest and yet warmest lake in the Hochschwab region. You can reach it after a moderate hike surrounded by untouched nature. After the tour, it is worth visiting the Hochschwab Museum at Bodenbauer.

The “Wilde Berg Mautern” offers in addition to numerous attractions, a varied program. 300 alpine animals such as foxes, bears, wolves or lynxes look forward to the visitors. Other animals such as goats, sheep or rabbits wait to be petted at the children’s farm. Witness kings of the air such as vultures, eagles, and falcons at the exciting bird of prey show. There is also fun and games waiting for the younger ones in the play park or the Children’s’ Barn. Guests are spoiled with regional culinary specialties at the Steinbockalm Restaurant.

RAFTING ON THE SALZA
